Pimpin'

For years I thought I was pimping the game when in all actuality the game was pimp-slapping me!  I thought that I knew how to rob Peter to pay Paul and juggle and hustle to keep myself afloat; that is until God showed me that pimping is a deception that many are fooled by.  Trying to run game on folk, finagle and manipulate things and a person is not living at all.  Really I was running myself ragged trying to keep my head above water and keep myself out of trouble.  The crazy thing about being Player of the Year is that there will be another player crowned the next year.  God let me in on a little known secret – which is, this game called life is a fixed-fight; and without him, it will be a TKO every time we enter the ring to try and conquer our enemies apart from him.  There are plenty of folk who play the game and play it well but just because you have acquired wealth doesn't mean that you will keep it or if you will be able to handle it when it comes.  Wealth and success can issue out a combination punch that many cannot recover from.  God as our corner man will instruct us when to side-step and when to throw our combos to be victors in the ring of life and he alone knows how long each round will last – Life is not a scheduled fight.  Until I learned that I couldn't benefit off of someone else doing the work for me, but when I trusted totally on him did I learn that there is a way to lived blessed and have his provision and protection, and not always try to come up with the answers myself, but in all my ways acknowledge him and he will direct my path.  We can hardly out-slick the world, how in the world do we think that we are going to outwit the enemy at this own game, except we have God on our side.  Pimpin’ sure isn't easy and it’s a short-lived life that ruins the lives of others, but also the life of the self-appointed pimp thinking that he or she is two-quarter slick.  We have to learn to put our past behind us and press toward to the high-mark of the high calling of God; and he will reward us when we stop trying to self-gratify and reward ourselves.  We think we are out-witting folk, however, we are only fooling ourselves.  Hang up your pimp cape, cane and hat and surrender to the one who is greater than you – Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
