Some wonder why I can speak so definitively, absolutely, positively,
presumptuously and assuredly about things to come in my future and my only answer
to them is that I don’t keep my hope in anything other than the promises of
God; which are Yes and Amen in him. You
see… I have had many private battles that I have won spiritually that no one
knew about or was even aware that I was up under attack or in a battle of
testing - but ME! We all must have a
lion and bear testimony that makes us believe when others think us foolish, crazy
or desperate when we are following a path that God has lead us to tread
upon. Many times it appears that God is
setting us up for failure because at first God woos us by showing up quick,
fast and in a hurry and if we don’t grow in our faith and trust in him, we will
tend to think that God must have forsaken us; if he makes us wait for any
period of time. Not so! The more faith we have, the more we learn to
wait upon the Lord. Faith allows us to
be able to bear the weight of what success will surely bring. I believe that I will have what I say because
I have done the same before in my past when I wasn't sure at all that God would
come through and it still came to pass.
How much more will God do for me now that I stand firmly on his
word? Therein my dear friends are where
I find my will to seek, find, ask, knock, trust, believe and WAIT. As I spoke the other day – God is sort of
backwards for lack of a better word. The
way he does things are unconventional and contrary to the ways of the world, so
one would think that he would make you wait at first and then the more we
walked with him and in faith that things would get easier. Again… Not so! God knows that many would weary in waiting
and well-doing if he taught us the agony of waiting first, so as we do with our
own kids, he puts the peas at the back of the spoon and the sweet peaches at
the front, and as we taste and see that the Lord is good, the sweetness draws
us but the peas offer a sustenance that many do not appreciate at first. God has been too good to me and that was all
that he wanted to show me, but I had to learn that characteristic of who he is for
myself; and now that I know beyond a shadow of any doubt, it makes my assertion
that his promises will come to pass because the character of God is true and
unwavering. He may not do anything the
exact same way he has done before in my or your life but there is one absolute –
that he is Good! In that fact – I find
the gumption to speak those things that be not as though they were, my rest,
peace, anointing, success and favor all the days of my life.
