Be Strong...

We aren't dead but we are an endangered species because we are the "neck" of a relationship to to this society but our "head" - the men, have been decapitated and emasculated to the point wherein we are equivalent to a head-less horseman just riding about life blind but still having the responsibility of making the family work; and keep from losing our own minds/heads in the process. Some men choose to stay and fight the good fight of faith and for the life of the their family but many are running from woman-to-woman and from life-over-here to a life-over-there. Unfortunately, that way of thinking has permeated the tapestry of what once held a woman together and now many of them are throwing their hands up in the sky and leaving as well, leaving children in systems or with aging grandparents that are unequipped to keep foot-to-behind in order to raise a child properly in these days and times. Promiscuity is nothing more than a feeble attempt at trying to find love in anything and anyone. Thus, the diseases that ravage our culture. Incarcerations happen out of the necessity from women trying to make ends meet because we are the head of most families and what must be done, will be done if a woman is worth her salt. As Ms. Sophia once poignantly gave the insight to on the silver-screen - "Many have had to fight their brothers, uncles, and even their daddies", so women come into this world fighting off attacks and then when we swing back we are called aggressive and too independent. The Life of a Black Woman is the hardest occupation and much of it is sans the hazard pay. Yet by God's grace we are still alive and still striving. We fill the church pews and we have the love capacity to love our men and children to seek the Father. So if you ask me, through it all... We are completing the mission that God sent us here to do. Be strong and resilient and give love - sometimes until it hurts. But God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe on him shall be saved and have ever lasting life. God will keep us as he always has. ‪#‎CurrentEventEvangelist‬

Even if we ignore black women's grinding poverty, the sky-high rates of HIV infection, and the disproportionate incarceration, the fact is nearly half of all black women have been sexually coerced by the age of 18....
