GROWN FOLKS' BUSINESS...

GROWN FOLKS' BUSINESS...

Single life is good, it's so enticing to stay single because it's a choice; we like the freedom to do what and who we want - when we want. And that's frightening to think about giving up. It's our God given right. He even gives us the choice whether or not to choose him - so why would anyone want to relinquish that power?

Marriage is saying that I choice to stay with this one person forever. That's a hard thing to do, no matter what you say. Love is both good and enduring; and pros in my opinion outweigh the cons but truth be told, "till death do us part" is saying to oneself deny yourself the right to choose. Some can't deal with that right being "given" away.

Our walk with God is going a step farther, we're saying I'm both denying and "giving" myself away, my "right" of choice away, and not only do I want to do this in this life, I want to do this in the next life and not only that, but forever. Well now... Do you really? Some can't deal with that right to choose to being "given" away; for what, a life I can't see, but one I hope for? All I can judge by is what I can see

This is "Grown Folks' Business" when it comes to what we are willing to "give" in our walk with Christ. He wants it all and then some.

There's a difference between passing notes and sending love letters.

The Fool... Sometimes.

The Fool… Sometimes.

You must be willing to look and play the fool when God calls you to do something utterly ridiculous; it will bless you in the end.  He always covers our shame.

If you’re going to do anything great for God, He’s going to test you to determine whether or not you’re willing to look the fool in the face of others, in spite of knowing inwardly that God is up to something and that we must trust Him despite of how it appears outwardly

God wants to know are you all in…? Are you going to allow others to think that you have failed or perhaps that you are a fool to trust and follow Him; but if and when you do, there is a blessing in-store for those of us who endure on His behalf?

You can either play for the fool  for God and be blessed in the outcome or you can play the fool for another and get all there is that you are looking for and then some…

Listen baby… Everybody plays the fool sometimes… There is no exception to the rule
Except that those in God can expect that even the foolish things of God work to our good.

If we must play the fool – Do it for God – It can’t do anything else but bless you.

Stamina... How Long Can You Last?

Stamina... How Long Can You Last?

We grown folk talkin'. You ever have to push someone off? "Alright nih, that's enough. You've proven you're the best; now get up" , is what you exclaim.

That's all God is saying to us... My blessings will keep going and going and going... That's why we have to constantly feed our spirit, in order to try to keep pace in all that God is doing.

Some love, you push off. Some love, you hold onto. God says if we just keeping holding on, He is able to last till eternity. What a love... What a lover... What a God...

Stop being so squeamish about God, as if He doesn't know what you've done, who you've been doing it with and who you have and intended to do it with.

Be open with your Lord and your creator with respect of who He is and His omnipotence, that He already knows. It will help you defeat some things that you think you're hiding but they have you living defeated because you're thinking that you are keeping something from God.

How long can you last living impotent? No strength, stamina or power but we say we are in Christ.

A blessed life is potent, fruitful and multiplied.

I'm not tappin' out this time. I'm holding on until He blesses me.

Animal Kingdom...

Animal Kingdom…

Nothing or no one leaves this life unscathed; even in the Animal Kingdom we can see that life happens to everyone; just as it does with the jungle we call life.

Take the MMA Fighters… What’s the difference between them and a cock-fight or a pit-bull fight? Caged and fighting for their very lives.

Hindu won’t eat cows because they take them to be sacred and that they might one day return as one, and what if they do return as one, but with Mad Cow Disease.

The strays and the feral (disenfranchised), walking the streets only to be apprehended by the pound, only to live out their days from one kennel to another (jailed) for life, not for any doing on their part, just born at the wrong place and time… Just life…

Some are born into a family of pedigree and nothing spared or lacking, but love and time… A life of solitude and loneliness.

There are some who seems to have it perpetually good, while others the bad.

Adoption happens and animals are released into a loving family and they learn that all life isn't bad; strays and the feral get taken in by someone in need of love and they become lifetime companions.

We can try to save the animals just as we've attempted to save the unfortunates in Africa or some other third world country.

The rains fall upon both the just and the unjust… Life in God allows for us to expect the best there is.

Get out of your feelings and get into God, whose Kingdom has already been established.

Peephole...

Peephole…

Sometimes all we want and all we think that we need is a quick glimpse into what is to come; just a look through the peephole of time, to know what’s coming.  All we seem to receive is the myopic scope of a very limited view of a great expanse that is just too big to fit into the focus of our lens, no matter how we try to look around corners… It’s just not possible when God has the blinders up on all sides and tells us to keep looking straight ahead.

Peepholes are first and foremost for security, to see who or what is on the other side of the doorway that poses potential harm.

Secondly, they are to allow what or who was once unknown to be made known. So like God… always revealing and making things known to us that were once veiled or hidden.

A peep is all that’s needed oftentimes to give us that sense of safety; to either stay put or to go.

The view maybe narrow but it keeps us from overstepping boundaries that God has set in place.

It's A Suicide Mission...

It’s A Suicide Mission…

To go toe-to-toe, mono e mono with God takes something else that you won’t know that you have, until it’s all that you have left to hold onto.  Jacob wrestled with God until the breaking of day and he prevailed

Jacob was willing to hold onto God until he was either be blessed or killed.  When God promises a blessing over your life - you’re willing to see it come to fruition or die about it; there is no in-between, it’s all or nothing – “It’s A Suicide Mission”.

The weight of God’s promise(s) sometimes appears to be more than we are able to bear and it is – we need God to see us through until it comes to be and to go forward once it’s both finally visible and tangible.

Thank God that He is The Resurrection or else many of us might not make it through till the end because death at times seems eminent – God, either you bless me or take me up out of here; is what we often feel, but continue not to lean to your own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

As with Jacob, God will bless you instead of kill you for choosing to hold on in-spite of death being so nigh to you.  Keep holding on and you will be blessed.

Immaculate Conception... At Last.

Immaculate Conception…  At Last.

Disclaimer: Get your mind out of the gutter

God overshadowed Mary and she conceived.  Do you allow yourself to understand the magnitude of that statement?  God overshadowed her and inseminated her with an idea that she had to believe for, in order to conceive.
He (God) doesn’t have to touch us physical in order for us to conceive or conceptualize or to bring into fruition that which He has promised.  We have to first accept the gift of the idea that it could be done to us by His Holy Spirit.
God gave Mary quite a powerful orgasm.  An orgasm is nothing but a climax of excitement.  She became excited about God choosing her to perform a miracle.  When was the last time that you climaxed at what God promised you?  When God comes hails you and announces a phenomenal promise, it’s going to sound inconceivable, if you don’t believe that it is possible through God.

The idea of Heaven is inconceivable; however, if you cannot imagine the possibility of its existence, then you just might not wake up there.  How can you believe for Heaven, something not here on earth, and not be able to believe that God will perform those things which were told to you?

Every creature on earth reproduces after its own but only one does it out of pleasure and that is the humankind.  After a time, even the most excitable of lovers grow to a slow ember and no longer a roaring fire, no matter how much Cialis or Viagra you pump through your veins.  God had a mission to accomplish, to have generations to praise Him and the only way to accomplish that goal was through procreation; and He needed to make that task as enjoyable as possible.  And here we are… still going strong… and much of us are I enjoying thoroughly being able to partake of God’s declaration, “Be fruitful and multiply.”

We never seem to put ourselves into these Bible stories but the Bible is mankind’s “Never Ending Story”. Whomever reads it, is also engulfed knee-deep as Atreyu in the swamp (See the movie J). What God did for Mary, He also did for you and I; we must believe and receive what it is that He told us.
When you’ve been made love to by God and He shares that part of Himself with you that is the most important; His essence, His spirit; and His promise – you think to yourself… At Last, At Last, At Last.
When you've fallen head over heels in love, the next thing you want to do is get hitched! Aren't you ready to be married yet?

Serenade your God with these lyrics…

At last Song Lyrics
My love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song oh yeah
At last
The skies above are blue
Oh my heart was wrapped up in clover
First night I looked at you oh yeah
Well I found a dream, that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
And I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
At last
My love has come along
Oh my lonely days are over
And life is like a song oh yeah
Well I found a dream, that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
And I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
When you, when you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
Darlin' here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last
Darlin' here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At Last...

Accept The Gift

Accept The Gift.

We can either curse the day of our resurrection or embrace and bless it.

Job cursed the day that He was born, even from his mother’s womb but still found himself blessed exponentially by God for still trusting in Him, although dreading the day of his arrival into this life.
Now take John the Baptist… There is some conjecture that while six months into her pregnancy, John’s mother Elisabeth was carrying a stillborn baby, yet to be named.  His Father Zechariah had been silenced by God and unable to speak; and life appeared tumultuous in the household; until the Lord showed up.

Elisabeth was visited by her cousin Mary, the Mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and at that encounter was the first mentioning of the Holy Spirit that caused John to leap within the womb, because Mary was also pregnant at the time with Christ.

John could have died during the birthing process, just kept on sleeping, as Christ absolved the disciples when they kept falling asleep after he repeatedly asked that they stay awake with Him and pray at His hour of need, but he leaped to life; until his death, to prepare the way for the coming Messiah.
“Behold, The Lamb of God, which take away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29), He extolled to all who would hear.

John the Baptist accepted the gift of the calling and Jesus declared of him, “For I say unto you, among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist.
Who was blessed more?  Job, who was blessed doubly? Or John who was beheaded after being jailed, and did nothing to deserve his treatment?

One cursed the day and the other accepted the gift. And we speak of both as blessed and highly favored; and touted as greats of the Bible.

Neither are lacking anything in Heaven nor did either of them on earth, their perspectives were different but the ultimate goal was Christ.  Job feared what came upon Him, and John didn't fear anyone or anything that came against what he was created to do; yet they both were blessed.

Just remember that blessings come from the Lord and to praise Him for He is good.

When we accepted Christ as Lord and Savior we were resurrected into a new life for Him.  Will you curse or bless the day that the Lord has made?

Just One Word. Yes! You Can Call Me Crazy.

Just One Word. Yes! You Can Call Me Crazy.

It’s nerve-wrecking to say the least of what I am experiencing. Laid down last night scared of what I’d just read and rose up full of trepidation and a healthy fear of what is to come.  This post might get lengthy but God must get His Glory from the fruit of my lips/fingers for His mercy endureth forever towards me.

I will never forget the still, small voice of correction when God “checked me” in my lifestyle right in His word.  Religiously, I used to read “Our Daily Bread” devotional and although I was willfully sinning, I was still having my steps ordered by the Lord.

I was knee deep into some fast money and it was coming hand-over-fist and I could feel the spirit on it – I just wanted more of it, I’d never had it come so quick and so fast; nearly replenishing itself. I stayed counting it, hiding it, so-called “saving” it for a rainy day; so that whatever I spent, I made sure to get it back to replenish the stash. As to attempt to legitimize my actions, I did give some away; a giver will always be a giver, regardless if they’re rich or poor; it’s a heart action.

Always looking for a word of encouragement and guidance, I flipped and folded the page of the devotional and correction was staring me dead in my face and I couldn't play dumb if I wanted to, I was dead wrong and I knew it, as I read (2 Kings 5:26) Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservents, and maidservants?
God had given me a promise some months before this time about great things that He would accomplish in and through me; but in the meanwhile, I needed to live, why not well; is what I was thinking.
Boom! There it was, and truth be told it was the needed correction to halt what was coming to devour me in the form of the the law and then from God.  Like getting a beating by your grandparent or neighbor when they saw you acting out and then turn around and get another one from your parents – Double for my trouble… Literally.  I struggled with how could I stop something so lucrative and beneficial, or so I thought for my family, but a straight up warning from God like this was as a burning bush – I couldn't turn away. I stopped. Period.  Sometimes you just have to obey or else.  Some correction is swift  and punishment expedited but the punitive and financial damages was the least of my worries, had I not done what thus saith the Lord.

Since that day of correction I have struggled financially and I was well aware of why; and it’s been years, in comparison to the time of the “come up”, which only lasted for a few months.

And since that time I read in between the lines of that correction.  If you read it again, you will see the subtle promise hidden in the message “Is it a time?” Therefore, spiritually reading the correction over and again, I saw that there must be a time; If not now, down the line.  I held on to that as I knew that consequences were soon to take hold of the situation.  No one gets off scott-free.

The journey I have been on since has been amazing because God has been preparing me as I went through and even I must admit that I can see the change in me, before anyone get’s the opportunity to make the discovery.

While delving into trying to prepare a word of encouragement as I try to do daily, which you see if you follow me and my posts; and as I searched the scriptures, I came across a scripture that I had to have read more than once before but when I read it yesterday, I turned aside to see it because it was as if I was seeing it for the first time and it blessed my soul.

If ever you've heard God say “No”, indeed you recognize when you hear Him finally say, “Yes”.  Yesterday the Lord spoke in the same still, small voice and I have been unglued since yesterday.
I’m still trembling because even after pleading, begging and nearly committing spiritual suicide by wanting to give up, God remained faithful and sent His word to me. (Luke 1:45) “Blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

The significance of this is so great because only I know what the Lord spoke to me and it finally confirmed to me that I wasn't crazy when I first heard Him say it.  I have appeared crazy to both myself and I’m am quite sure others alike but what’s lunacy to me, is abundant blessings of God here on earth.

There is one thing to believe… Then there’s another to hear a Yes!

Weird much?  Oftentimes I have to ask God is He sure that He wants me to share these testimonials because folk might begin to think that I’m some kind of religious loon and what was intended to do good by giving a testimonial, turns others away; but God said just do what I told you to do, tell them about me and about us, and our relationship and I will deal with the after effects.

It’s only crazy if it doesn't work.  I know too much about Him for anything to make me doubt Him.
When I saved the word “Yes” that you see as a graphic, I knew I wouldn't have the authorization and clearance to use it until I had actually heard it unequivocally via my spirit, and to have heard it yesterday still has me shaking my head in dismay as when I first heard the instruction.

Overwhelmingly, my spirit extols Holy, Holy, Holy and Blessings and Thanksgivings to God who has remembered me and His promise to me.  Glory be to God, in Jesus Name I pray.  Amen.

Let Freedom Ring... While It Yet Can.

Let Freedom Ring… While it yet can.
God need people with good sense on His side, not just zealots and gun-totting rabble-rousers. Why does God get left with all the crazies, while the ACLU and others are trained for battle by the best of institutions? They are being trained for the arena that makes the decisions and laws, and God’s people are still back-wooded creatures; amazed every time we see a spark of hope as if it’s seeing fire for the very first time.
There isn’t a day that should pass that you haven’t evoked the name of God and given him praise; so someone throughout the day will have heard.
The more accessible we become the less we really are. Currently, we still have our freedom(s), and Thank God for them.
Let freedom right while you yet can… Arrogance is such an affront to God. Remain Humble America.
Let’s Make God Great Again and our Freedom(s) will be secure.

A Belly Full... of Poverty.

A Belly Full… of Poverty.

It’s amazing what some will do in order to not taste the regurgitation of poverty; some are willing to crash head-on into another individual, and be willing to break bone or severely injure another human being, all in the name of sportsmanship.

Others are willing to risk a limb in a vehicle accident in hopes of an ambulance-chasing attorney to garner him or her some pocket change, while others are willing to assist grandma on over to the other side of Heaven’s pearly gates for her life insurance policy.

And not that its life-changing money, mostly a drop in the bucket called life, but something they are surely thinking is “something better than nothing”.

Old folks like to put it this way… “A belly full is a belly full.” But I beg to differ, a belly full of surf and turf, fine cuisine is far satisfying than a belly full of sardines, hot sauce and crackers.

Now we’ve already established what a belly full of poverty will make us settle for, what do you think that a belly that has never tasted poverty will do, not to be able to taste a burp of it? Anything is right.
I can’t help but muse of which is worse to have to choose from?  Insatiability strong as a vampire’s blood-thirst that we’d be willing to do anything, to oppress a people, to SILENCE a voice permanently if outspoken against the law of the land, or suffer the manna of welfare or a forty hour plus work week until we drop dead in the wilderness.

Feed us God till we want no more… No more poverty, gluttony or welfare system that is designed to fill but not satisfy.  God will give us the satiety we desire, he will fill us, if we ask Him to.
I’m tired of eating and being hungry again in a few hours… Hungry for humanity to stand up for the God of our Salvation and greedy for true change for this world; and for social injustices to go on as status quo, we march, protest and then go back to our cubby-holes and lick our wounds until the next great disaster enthralls the nation and we have great water cooler conversations and break-room tantrums.

We don’t need to see another picture of a swollen-belly baby in Africa, were swollen right here in America and still dying from undernourishment of our souls.

Greater >

Greater >

Better than being good to me, God has been Faithful to me.  It’s out of His faithfulness that I discover that His goodness has followed me all the days of my life.

Bad, Better, Worse… Good, Better, Best… then Faithful trumps them all.

When we remember that God is Greater… just Greater, less-than isn't even in the picture.

Allow God to show Himself, first of all, faithful in your life and then you won’t have any issue with Him doing the Greater in your life.

It's Going To Take Some Convincing... The Show Must Go On!

It’s Going To Take Some Convincing… The Show Must Go On!

You've said it before, “Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?”  Truth be told, when it comes to waiting on the Lord, “It’s me Lord standing in the need of prayer.”

I am trying to convince “me” each and every morning I rise up and I am still in the same old life that I was in yesterday.  Way-minute! It’s still not here?  Alright Lord… I need you again today
And now the process ensues of me asking for the strength to face this day- not tomorrow.
Tomorrow… Why in the world would I want to think and worry about tomorrow when today’s concerns are a handful and a ½?  All the faith I have is for TODAY; just the right amount of manna, so that it doesn't go bad… I gather what I need today and for today only.

If you don’t think that you have convince yourself to stay in stride, to keep walking and fighting the good fight of faith, then you haven’t been footin’ it very long.  None of us can out-sprint, run or speed-walk out of the process that God has called us to.

Faith and convincing are not two of the same; therefore, I’m not speaking as though you have to build up your faith over and again because your faith in God must first be established in order to CONVINCE yourself repeatedly, and believe, even when the same scenery plays day after day – the curtain opens and we have to perform – The Show Must Go On! Be Christ-like as best you can.

God has the playbill with our names listed as a cast member and we have people who are watching us to see what “we” say all the hype is about our God.  I plan to put on a show every day he opens the curtains of my eyes to see the bright lights of life and I shall receive the award for BEST PERFORMANCE.

No Air... Umbilical Cord Respiration

No Air…  Umbilical Cord Respiration

Waiting on God is liken to being in the womb, unable to breathe on one’s own, its dark and the only apparatus that keeps me pumping air through otherwise collapsed, unstable lungs is the umbilical cord.
Why is it that when waiting on God that it appears that you nearly lose consciousness? Why does there seem to always be an issue with air?  The promises of God will surely take your breath away
The only respiration performed is from me to God and God to me.  Until I am birthed into the new place that He has pre-pared for me, I will remain on artificial respiration from Him, come to think of it, I don’t want to breathe without Him.

Serenade God with these lyrics... Love on Him as he loves on you.

The Lyrics to Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown were so befitting…

Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
If I should die before I wake
Its 'cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air, oh

I'm here alone, didn't wanna leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Is there a way I could make you understand?
But how
Do you expect me, to live alone with just me?
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air
I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew right off
The ground and float to you
There's no gravity to hold me down, for real

But somehow I'm still alive inside
You took my breath but I survived
I don't know how but I don't even care

So how do you expect me to live alone with just me?
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe

Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air

Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air?
Can't live, can't breathe with no air
That's how I feel whenever you ain't there
There's no air, no air
Got me out here in the water so deep
Tell me how you gon' be without me?
If you ain't here I just can't breathe
There's no air, no air
No air air, No air air

Got me here out in the water so deep

Tell me how you goin' be without me?

If you ain't here I just can't breathe

There's no air, no air

No air air, no air air

More Than A Patriot...

More Than A Patriot...

God was here before America was created. Search out the dreams that God has placed on your heart and stop living for this so-called pseudo American dream. God has been in the business of blessing folks long before America was even thought about. Lets refocus our priorities on the things of God. I want to see far more than just America - I would like to see every continent that the Father created and be a blessing to people outside of the U.S.A. My dreams travel past the borders of the U.S. of A. God cannot be bought, therefore the American Dream cannot be purchased. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and the American Dream will surely come to pass.

I Don't "Meme" You No Harm... What Do You "Meme"?

I Don’t “Meme” You No Harm… What do you “Meme”?

I know this might be a shock to some but we cannot live out the life that God calls us to live by living only off of a steady diet of “memes”.  Some think by posting, liking and sharing witty post, that it’s enough to live a healthy lifestyle but it’s deficiency at the highest level; to think that a quick post here or there throughout the day will be the satiety needed to win the daily battle to obtain all that God has for us.

Memes are great and a constant reminder, thanks to social media, to have a constant remembrance of God and who He is in our lives but it doesn't replace fellowship with God and with others in His house of prayer nor the daily commitment to desire to want to seek Him for ourselves.

Don’t allow the danger of a good meme (because there are some very clever and poignant ones that are in rotation throughout the net), but never let anything or anyone separate you from the love of God and the learning of that love out of fear, reverence, and dedication to walking out our lives in faith, in Him, through Christ Jesus.

And I “Meme”that!

A-Maze-Ing… So Retro!

Frankie Beverly and Maze… Need I say more?  Who doesn't finish the entire lyrics to “Before I let go”? You just cannot turn the song off or tune it out when it starts to play… You hear it right now in your head and don’t let it be played at the cook-out or party – it’s what loosens up the stuffy crowd.

Forty-years plus and they have been singing the same tunes, no new album and we still play the songs and they sound as though they’re new to us; that’s what you refer to as a classic album.
Maze has had a forty-year career from singing the same album over and over again – what a career – to have your work be so renowned that you don’t have to ever do another album or record in the studio; your work sells itself… What a blessing of God.

“Joy and Pain” is something that everyone endures and partly the reason for the endurance of the legendary group ensemble.

“We Are One” – they were expressing sentiments that still run through the veins of this nation.  “Happy Feelings”, what we are all in search of… And if I continue on, you just might have to download in your Spotify or Pandora.  It’s contagious vibes I tell ya!

Now I can sing the praises of how great Maze featuring Frankie Beverly is but when I think about the goodness of God, who only gets better with eternity, not just time; who is so old that He’s perpetually made new, morning by morning, Maze fades in comparison.

God is Retro that He at times becomes Nouveau to those that don’t understand that He is the God of yesterday, today and forevermore.

Remember the playlist of God and allow it to ruminate over and again in your spirit and you will find yourself “Back in Stride Again”, because he surely has favored me and stayed His eyes on this little “Southern Girl”.

A Buck Fifty... A Pimple and a Plan.

A Buck Fifty… A Pimple and a Plan.

Definition: a Buck Fifty. A large cut or scar across the face, usually caused by a blade or razor, which needs (or needed) 150 stitches (hence "a buck fifty). For those not up on their hood vernacular…

Scratch, bust or aggravate a pimple PREMATURELY before it’s time and you may cause some skin-deep (DERMIS) scarring that you may regret.  The scar may fade over time but until it does, its prominence seems to be domineering and it consumes your life.

What-da-ya-do when you get something ineradicable or indelible such as “a Buck Fifty” on your face and God says that you must live with it; live with something that isn't pleasant to view by others or oneself?

Well… we have to keep living when life is ugly, shameful and full of the scars of life, no matter if they are protuberant or not; life goes on – In God.

Look at the Singer/Artist Seal; he rode that face right into the heart of Heidi Klum… A Supermodel.
Who doesn't know Michael K. Williams the actor better known as “Omar Little” from the Wire, best known for his menacing real-life buck fifty, smack-dab in the middle of his face.  He was one character you definitely didn't want to dream about chasing you down some dark alley at night… Lord wake me up right now in the name of Jesus… LOL

We laugh when we wake up and find out that it was all a dream, but what do you do when you wake-up and you’re your life is one continual nightmare? One movie trailer after another…
Don’t allow the scars of our past to keep us from the way, the truth and the life of our future.
Trust God to be your healer and your concealer (Girls with any makeup acumen understands this well…)

As with all scars, time fades them away and what we once thought that we can’t live with, we find that it gets easier and eventually, it works as all things do, for our good.

The Hoodxtables...

The Hoodxtables...

When my hubby and I were looking at some old re-runs of the epic television show that made most children like myself, someday hope to have a relationship and family as close to The Huxtables as we could ever hope for; we found ourselves laughing because sans the HBCU degrees of Higher Education (because we both have minor degrees), and the Brownstone dwelling, our family closely resembles that of the The Huxtables and I realized just how blessed we ARE.

I remember thinking that a type of relationship is no where near possible but it's great to muse over and think about, and lo and behold, here I stand in the same blessing I once thought was impossible.

Whatever area of our lives we turn over to God is where He will come in and be Savior of. If we give Him our relationships, He will satisfy us.

If we say God, I give you my tithes but my relationship(s) are off-limits because I need to be the one that chooses my mate because "I" know what's best for me, then God will stay out of it and allow you to continue to choose, and choose, and choose... etc.

Those of us who choose to have God come into "every" area of our lives are the ones who have God navigating our paths and we have Good Success wherever our feet may trodden.

God is the consummate gentleman... He will not force himself into any area of your life that you designate off-limits to Him.

Invite Him in today and leave no area deemed off-limits...

Generations...

Generations...

Your grandparents, YOU and your kids; roughly two generations. And since we know a generation is known generally as 40 years; I m speaking to those in my age bracket of peers and contemporaries.

70 years in captivity of the Babylonians. Again, roughly two generations; that would've meant some were grandparents, parents and children. Some died in captivity even though God said He would be with them and to marry and build houses.

We can be doing everything that God said and still be held captive.

If your parents haven't fulfilled the dreams of their heart, they may be apart of that generation that dies off in the wilderness. We speak frivolously when we speak of the Children of Israel, like it doesn't and couldn't happen to us. They heard and both saw their parents die short of the promise. What would make them think otherwise of their state? They had to believe. Same as us, or our generation is next.

I want to be apart of that generation that goes in and possesses the land - don't you? To be the generation that leaves the inheritance for his children's children.

We must believe God to be set free and to possess the land of no lack, exceeding and abundance; and good success.

Remember the Lord THY God.

Can't Afford It?

Can’t Afford It?

Don’t buy it if you can’t afford it… How many times have we heard that?  Many cannot afford whatever it is that we have our hearts desire set upon.

If you say to yourself, “I’m going to go to college and earn a degree to be able to support my family, purchase a house and vehicle”, and you do just that and retire at 65 or 70 years old; take a vacation once or twice a year and purchase a refrigerator magnet to commemorate where you have ventured or a bottle cap opener – Did you get what you said that you wanted?  Can you be upset with anyone if you got just what you asked for – Did you not ask for just that?

Going to any lender requesting any extension of credit unless in acquisition of another company – you cannot truly afford it – Mortgages are for people who cannot afford to purchase the house outright, same for the five years or more car loan – We cannot afford it, so we borrow  what we want.
And just after the 30 year mortgage is paid, you’re just old enough to live in it a few years before you’re edged out by the kids and into a convalescent home to live out the remainder of your days wondering ”What if” and “What could have been”?

God said that He would give us houses that we didn’t build and vineyards that we didn’t plant.  No one invades and takes over a region that isn’t profitable or well-off.  Napa Valley vineyards are worth an invasion, not our window box planting of herbs.  And waterfront properties are worth a battle, not shanty towns.  When God sent the Israelites in to possess the land, the land was of milk and honey, homes and vineyards because they were going to possess a wealthy land.

I no longer desire what I can afford but rather what I cannot.  If I can’t afford it no way, why not believe for exceeding and abundant?  I cannot afford Salvation but nevertheless, I want it – And I receive it.

We cannot afford the lifestyle we want, so why not simply receive it?

Our country of capitalism is ran off the idea of buy now and pay later.  God’s economy is run off of the idea and principal of faith

If you can’t afford it, then you are perfectly positioned for the miracles of God.  Miracles are birthed from necessity plus the desire to see the hand of God move in our lives.

If you know like me, you don’t want to be able to afford it.
