½ Full, ½ Empty - Who cares…? Obey Your Thirst!
Have you ever found yourself bumping into God? How? It’s
when we peer through the prism of a
glass of optimism or positive thinking.
Of course it’s good to have an outlook that looks at the
best of a situation and foresee an outcome that is favorable to us when we come
to the end of a turbulent period of our lives, but no matter how positive and no
matter how optimistic, life still
gets the best of us at times. Haven’t we
learned yet that the game is rigged
to make us acutely aware that we are in need of the God of the schematics of
the game called life?
We eventually find ourselves at
the end of our ropes and completely depleted of all optimism, and all positive
thinking converts to negative; and we then are trying to back ourselves up out
of a bad situation and then bump!
And then God says, “Well
looky-looky who it is; fancy finding you here”.
By the time we bump into God,
we have wandered the wilderness only to find out that the mirages of oasis that
we thought existed, that we assumed would quench our thirst was nothing but
arid and barren places, people and things and the only one to quench our thirst
was him.
If someone offered you a cup of
water that was ½ empty or ½ full – depending on how thirsty you are – it wouldn't
matter how you viewed the contents, you drink it up – gulp after gulp and you
would lick the condensation from the outside of the cup!
Sometimes it takes being thirsty in order for you to realize what
really matters in life. Obey your
Thirst!
