A-Maze-Ing… So Retro!

Frankie Beverly and Maze… Need I say more?  Who doesn't finish the entire lyrics to “Before I let go”? You just cannot turn the song off or tune it out when it starts to play… You hear it right now in your head and don’t let it be played at the cook-out or party – it’s what loosens up the stuffy crowd.

Forty-years plus and they have been singing the same tunes, no new album and we still play the songs and they sound as though they’re new to us; that’s what you refer to as a classic album.
Maze has had a forty-year career from singing the same album over and over again – what a career – to have your work be so renowned that you don’t have to ever do another album or record in the studio; your work sells itself… What a blessing of God.

“Joy and Pain” is something that everyone endures and partly the reason for the endurance of the legendary group ensemble.

“We Are One” – they were expressing sentiments that still run through the veins of this nation.  “Happy Feelings”, what we are all in search of… And if I continue on, you just might have to download in your Spotify or Pandora.  It’s contagious vibes I tell ya!

Now I can sing the praises of how great Maze featuring Frankie Beverly is but when I think about the goodness of God, who only gets better with eternity, not just time; who is so old that He’s perpetually made new, morning by morning, Maze fades in comparison.

God is Retro that He at times becomes Nouveau to those that don’t understand that He is the God of yesterday, today and forevermore.

Remember the playlist of God and allow it to ruminate over and again in your spirit and you will find yourself “Back in Stride Again”, because he surely has favored me and stayed His eyes on this little “Southern Girl”.
